This safety video program on Heat Illness Prevention for California Workplaces discusses how heat affects the body and how it can lead to heat-related illness. It also provides practical guidance on how to comply with California’s indoor and outdoor Heat Illness Prevention Standards, as well as reviews what workers can do to help prevent heat-related illness.
Dealing with the heat can be inevitable in some work environments. Workers need to understand how to protect themselves from heat-related illnesses through proper preparation, safe work practices and engineering controls. But they don't have to do this alone… California’s outdoor and indoor Heat Illness Prevention Standards lay out the guidelines workers can use to “beat the heat” and go home safely at the end of the day.
